Fall Nail Art using Duri Cosmetics Nail Polishes

Hi Loves!

Let's get started with these fall nail art looks right away. I made a few simple nail art designs using some (or all) of the nail polishes from Duri Cosmetics that I showed you in a recent post. If you missed it you can read all about them here. And also you can check out this video, if you prefer to watch them all in action.

Now, for the first look, and I'll say the star of this post, I decided to do a nail art using all 6 of the color I mentioned. These are: "Don't Think Twice", "Almost in Love", "Austin City Lites", "Baton Rouge Blues", "Dragontini", and "Taming of the Shrew". I tried to look for a way to combine all six in a cohesive way, and after giving it a lot of tought, triangles was the way to go. I beleive it to be a fairly simple to do, mistake proof design. You'll see why.

With this design you can get as creative and simple as you want, and if by any chance you mess up, it is so easy to fix! Making all the triangles different sizes and randomly positioning them makes this a stress free design, because there is no wrong or right way to do it. So its lots of fun!

I picked out from the colors, the more fall appealing and came out with these individual (to say it like that) designs as well:

For this one, I used the red shade, "Taming of the Shrew", as a base. Then with acrylic paints, in black and white, and a small detail brush did this arches and lines. Add a few dots to bring everything together, top coat, and you are set.

I love purple, everyone already knows that, so that makes me very excited about this design. Base color is "Dragontini", and I used a gold nail polish, Sally Hansen "Go for Gold" to create the henna inspired design. So simple and it looks so fancy! So If you want your nails to be stylish during fall, you should give this design a try.

Duri Cosmetics Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Hello Darlings!

Hey!! Today I have another set of swatches for you. This time I'll show you some colors from Duri Cosmetics. Yes, the same company that makes the famous Rejuvacoat. Now, I've heard from them because of all the amazing things people say about this base coat, and don't judge me, but I haven't try it yet. Anyways, with such an amazing reputation, I thought, hey the polishes must have a good quality as well. Well, here you will see all about them. Be sure to check out the video as well, for more details on application, color, formula, etc.

As for the swatches! The colors I received from Duri were: "Almost in Love", "Austin City Lites", "Baton Rouge Blues", "Dragontini", "Taming of the Shrew", and "Don't Think Twice". They range from creamy formulas to gel - like, glossy to matte finishes, light to darker color shades. All of them dried pretty quickly and applied so easily on the nails. Pigmentation for all was impressive, you can see from the first coat the color you are going to get which I think is pretty amazing.

Let's see all the swatches:

"Almost in Love"

This one is a beautiful bubblegum pink, the pink that everyone wants to have in their collection. It has a creamy formula, very pigmented and it builds up nicely in two coats. Application was very easy, and at the very moment you begin to apply the color, you can already see how its going to look at the end. If you want to know about durability, I rocked this shade for almost a week! (and thats to much for me lol) without any chipping. Yes, I used a fast drying top coat over it.

"Austin City Lites"

This shade is in between an orange and a peachy shade. This one has a creme formula as well, with the difference that this one dries matte. Drying time was pretty fast (being matte you can tell when it starts to turn matte), by the time I was done with my pinky, the thumb was already dry. That's how fast it was. It is gorgeous to wear with its matte finish, or if you prefer to add a top coat that is fine too. Will absolutely be a good shade to wear this upcoming fall season.

"Baton Rouge Blues"

Ok, so a blue that looks like a lilac?! Or viceversa? This is the impression I got from this shade and I loved it! Another creme formula, in the video (that I linked above or you can click here to watch) It looks like a pretty soft purple/lilac shade, as well as in person, but depending on the lights it shows up as a gorgeous sky blue. I am not mad at either of them. All the pictures show blue, but Im telling you, this one has a lilac undertone to it. It's so pretty. And it wears beautifully.

"Don't Think Twice"

This is your basic medium light gray. And as for basic I mean it in a very good way! That gray polish you look for but never find the perfect shade, this one was it for me. It looks light without loosing its gray-ness. Cream formula, opaque in two easy coats. Gorgeous for fall.

"Dragontini"

My favorite of all! Deep purple shade that actually looks purple and not black! This one has a gel like formula, it applies so nicely on the nails and dries super quick. Now, I know I am going to sound crazy with this, but as I was using it, I sensed a smell like grapes, yeah must have been my mind playing tricks lol, but it had a berry feeling. Two easy coats led to a beautiful deep purple manicure, perfect for fall, and for any occasion!

"Taming of the Shrew"

Classic chic red polish. This one also has a gel like formula. It builds up super gorgeous on the nail. It almost have like a pink undertone which balances it deepness providing the perfect red looking polish.

Well my friends, that is all for today's swatches. I have to say that I am really impress with the quality of these nail polishes. I have heard the amazing reputation they have with the so popular Rejuvacoat, as I said before, it is not a surprise that they can extend that quality to their nail polish colors as well.

Nude, Black and Gold Nails

Hello Darlings!

There is something about this color combination that drives me crazy! Nude, black and gold?! How much chic and classy can it get? It's perfect for any occasion! Birthdays, weddings, graduations, proms, hey! I can even wear them on an every day basis! Today I will show you two designs using the exact same 3 nail polishes with this combination, and you'll tell me what you think!

For both looks I used: Sally Hansen "Groov-ey" and "Go for Gold" and Sinful Colors "Black on Black"

The first design is a negative space inspired manicure, which features a gold triangle with a black arch. Very easy to achieve and so pretty!

The next one is based over the nude polish as you see, but this time it features thin lines of black and gold. To be honest, this one is my favorite! I love how minimal and simple it looks, yet very glamorous!

Both designs were finished with HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat to give them that pretty shine.

Galaxy Nails using Mirror Powder - Born Pretty Store Mirror Powder Review

Hello Darlings!

By now you may already have seen lot of people trying out holo powders and mirror powders on their nails. Let me tell you something, they are gorgeous! And of curse I had to give them a try as well. Today I will show you this galaxy inspired mani using Born Pretty Store Shining Chameleon Mirror Nail Glitter. It comes in this little container with an applicator, which in one end has a sponge to apply the powder, and in the other a brush to clean up all the mess.

I do not own any gel polishes or an UV lamp (confession: I have my respect for gels, besides I like to change manis to often to compromise!) so I wanted to give this a try using gel-like top coat instead. I got to tell you, I really loved how it turned out. I use a regular black polish (Wet n' Wild - "Black Creme") and topped it with Londontown Gel Genius Top Coat. You can guess that it gets a little messy, but the end result is so worth it!

Once I began swatching the powder, it reminded me so much of a galaxy, and that is why I called this manicure galaxy nails. I even attempted to add the stars, but the shine of the powder itself is so amazing that you can almost not see the stars. It looks different colors everytime I see my nails, depending on the light and angle, you can see that on the following pictures.
