A new round of swatches today! I am super excited to show you this collection, not only because the colors are gorgeous, but I am such a huge Disney fan and love everything princesses, and of course Beauty and the Beast! I am trying to content myself while writing this review. The new Beauty and the Beast movie is coming up on March 17, and I want to be one of the firsts in the movie theater!

Let's talk about the nail polish collection. I received these nail polishes compliments of Morgan Taylor  as part of the #PreenMeVIP Program from Preen Me. The collection consists of 6 nail polishes and one nail polish that can be used as it is or as a topper to give a whole new different effect to the manicure. The shades are "Gaston And On and On", "Days in the Sun", "Potts of Tea", "Plumette With Excitement", "The Last Petal", "Be Our Guest" and "Enchanted Patina". Once you add "Enchanted Patina" on top of the other polishes, it gives an antique look, adding a bronzed copper look to the nail. Personally, I like to use this one by itself, you'll see the swatches but is nice to have it as an alternate look for each shade. The brush in this nail polish bottles is amazing. They have a wide brush that allows you to cover more nail space in one swipe, making application a lot easier. Take a look at the live swatches here:

Beautiful on point yellow nail polish. It resembles Belle's gown perfectly. In just two coats achieves a perfect opacity. If you see closely, it has a gorgeous pink reflection to it. It was a little hard to capture it on camera, but believe me, in real life it looked amazing. The formula was very easy to work with.





"Potts of Tea"

I am obsessed with this color! Look at it, it's gorgeous. The name fits perfectly, it looks exactly like Chip and Mrs. Potts! It is a light gray color, almost like a very light blue, and it has pink and gold shimmers to it. It really looks like a ceramic. In the pictures, you see two easy even coats.

With "Enchanted Patina", "Potts of Tea" looked a bit more platinum that it is.



"Plumette with Excitement"

This one is a very delicate soft pink nail polish. The formula is great, and it applies very easily. Just two coats for this one and you have a sweet and delicate manicure.

With this pale pink, when you add the patina topper, it almost disappears. The final look is a very subtle soft metallic shade.

Alrough I prefer "Enchanted Patina" by itself, as I mentioned before, among all the swatches I uses it as a topper, this one is my favorite. I think that is because the color underneath brings out the bronze feel more, almost looking like a rose gold metal.


"Be Our Guest"

With the topper, this color just gives a very antique girly look. It looks really pretty.


"Enchanted Patina"

As for "Enchanted Patina" by itself, it took three coats for me to be happy with the result. They were very easy coats to do but did need the three to achieve its potential. Here you see pictures in different lighting settings, and you see how it reflects a bronze, rose gold undertones.

Adding the top coat, in my case, HK Girl, really showed up the gold particles in the nail polish and gave it a whole new look to the manicure.

Recently I swatched for you the Bettina Cosmetics Galaxy Collection. You can read all about it in this post. I fell so in love with the collection that I wanted to create yet another nail art with it. I really couldn't decide on what color, and wanted them all! So these came up! When you can't decide, just wear them all!

This collection is so well thought of, that you can wear every single polish in it, and the manicure will look amazing! It all makes sense together. And the finished product is so beautiful! The best part, it was so easy, and it looks like it took a long time, when in reality, I did it in under half an hour! Get ready to rock a manicure from another galaxy this weekend!

Here is the Step by Step Nail Art:



1- After base coat, apply 2 coats of white nail polish. Wait a few minutes for it to dry, and apply a layer of fast drying top coat. We are going to use striping tape, and the top coat will prevent the base color to peel off what removing it.



2- Cut out pieces of striping tape to get ready for your nail art. For this particular nail art, I used 5 pieces per nail, but you can adjust that to the size or your nail and/or amount of colors you are going to use. Place the striping tape horizontally on the nail, trying to do this evenly spaced for uniformity (or you can get creative and go for a more uneven look!). Make sure to secure the striping tape well on the nail by pressing it firmly and check out for the edges. You can find the striping tape here.



3- Make sure you have your nail polishes ready, and in the order in which you want to use them. I used a small detail brush for more control of application. Fill the empty spaces with the nail color of your choice, and once both sides of the striping tape are filled, remove it quickly before the nail polish dries. This will allow for crisper and cleaner lines. Repeat the process until you cover the whole nail.



4- Top Coat. Allow your manicure to fully dry before applying top coat. When it comes to nail art like this one, with lines in it, especially horizontal, I like to first apply a layer of top coat following the lines. Yes, I apply it horizontally first, and then apply a layer as you normally would. I find that this prevents all your hard work from smearing, and hey, two layers of top coat are better than one, right? And that's it! Your manicure is ready!

 You can say that they are like tattoos for your nails. You simply choose the design you want to use, cut it out and remove the plastic. Then, dip it in water for a few seconds, it would come out of the paper easily so you can apply it to the nail. Press it good into the nail and once the water is dry (no time at all!) add your favorite top coat to make it last. If you find empty spaces within the design, you can always personalize it by adding dots around it and make the design come together.

For a long time, I've been avoiding nail stamping because of many reasons. First, I really really enjoy doing freehand nail art. That is what I always tell myself. And I still do! Freehand is my favorite! Also, I convinced myself that I couldn't do it. For some reason, I believed I couldn't. That stops today, I opened myself to the world of stamping. I mean, It's good to add variety to your style, and to have alternatives to your ideas! Here is how it went.

I was approached once again by Born Pretty Store, to see if I wanted to try some of their products, and this is when I decided to give stamping a try! They kindly sent me a stamping plate, nail stamper, and scrapers. I loved the designs on the plate! From hearts, stars, to patterns and lines, I think the possibilities are endless. All the products had a great quality, you can see the plates are really strong and the stamper super squishy. So I knew at the end of my journey I was going to succeed at this.

Of course, the first few attempts weren't successful. The first thing I learned: Not all polishes stamped! Ok that was obvious, and I know I have read many nail artist talking about whether a nail polish is good or bad for stamping, but living it is a different thing! I mean, you grab a very pigmented nail polish, which you think is going to work perfectly, try to pick it up with you stamper... and nothing?! Oh well, I guess you have to keep looking trough your collection! But it sure was so fun!

What I found out:

♡ You have to find the polishes that work well for stamping. It is all a matter of trial an error, and it will not depend on how opaque or pigmented the nail polish is, you just have to try and see which one works, and which doesn't.

♡ In this case, I found that Sinful Colors worked magics picking up and stamping. I used "Black on Black". For the white, the one that worked for me was Lakur "Duchess". Surprisingly, I tried OPI "Alpine Snow", which I thought it was going to be great, and it didn't stamp at all. I also didn't have any luck with metallics. I will definitely keep on trying polishes from my collection.

♡ My most important discovery: I CAN STAMP!!!

Ok, but now to what we are going to talk about in this post, 11 days of wear? I had to put this to the test, and oh it was so hard! I am changing my nail art constantly, maybe daily lol, and wearing only one manicure for as long as 11 days was really hard for me! So this is what I did. I decided to go with "Tiramisu for Two" because it is a very neutral color that goes with about anything, and I wore it on my dominant hand only. Why? That way I cold create designs on my non-dominant, while testing this out and it didn't look bad all together with my other hand because it kind of matched! Here is Day one:

Day 2: They look just as the first day!

Day 5: A little nail grow, but overall, intact.

Day 7: Growth looks more apparent, crack on the ring finger and a chip on the corner of the index finger. Also, there is a little tip wear.

Here you can see chipping on the thumb as well, the chip on the index and on the corners of the other nails. Time to get these off!

Overall Impression:

I think this polish does hold up a lot. I mean, I did put this hand to a lot of stress through the whole week, and it was staying strong.  And hey, for me one whole week with the same color, that was the biggest test! I am impressed because it didn't even fade, the shine was there the whole time. I do believe this line delivers what it promises, sure it will all depend on your daily routine, the chemistry on your nails and of course the rate at which your nails grow. Those are factors no one can control. But this sure is a long lasting nail polish. Way to go OPI!

Before I end this post, let's take a look again at Day 1! I loved how the nail polish looks!! Ohh and also here is a new live swatch! This time how I paint with my non-dominant hand. Warning" Is a little messy! lol
